 CLIMATE

September and October are our spring. It can frost at night, but the days are cool. Our summer, November through March is always delightful, warm during the day (up to 90 degrees) with refreshing cool nights. April is brilliant with autumn colors and May we start seeing some cold. June through August is winter, with some snow. Temperatures can get down to mid 20’s, but most days are a crisp and sunny in the 40’s.

LOCATION

Very few ever get to the heart of these lands, and when they do, it is usually on horseback, as it lies beyond all roads.

There is a track into the place and even an airstrip, but most come on horseback as befits a graceful arrival into the deep peace which resounds at Ranquilco.

Estancia Ranquilco lies in the northern Patagonia, in the province of Neuquen, Argentina. The nearest towns are El Cholar and El Huecu and the nearest city is Zapala. Most of our visitors arrive via Zapala.
